According to Sergei Melikov, the regional governor, this projected increase translates to nearly five million additional visitors compared to 2023. The anticipated surge aligns with recent reports from media citing Sergey Romashkin, the Vice President of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR). Romashkin noted a significant increase in interest for beach vacations in Dagestan for 2025. Earlier media reports had projected 1.85 million tourists to visit Dagestan in 2024.
