Over the past three years, restoration efforts have focused on the venerable 18th-century St Nicholas Church in the town of Kizlyar, with completion now in sight. Despite the challenges associated with the restoration process, many worshippers have continued to visit the site.

The work is not yet complete, but significant progress has been made, including the completion of wall plastering and painting, the installation of new floor tiles and the incorporation of a newly constructed iconostasis. The parishioners are grateful to the mayor Alexander Shuvalov and the district head Akim Mikirov for their support in acquiring and funding these improvements.

It should be noted that the construction team still needs to strengthen the foundations and improve the surroundings.
