Center of Paralympic sports to be created in Dagestan

Makhachkala, December 1, 2016. Dagestan authorities plan to establish a center for Paralympic sports to coordinate the preparation of Paralympic athletes, the first deputy Minister of Physical Education and Sport of the Republic of Dagestan Zainal Salautdinov is quoted saying.

"The draft project implies the creation of the adaptive center of sports. Nowadays, it it is very difficult to work without it. Different sport federations work with Paralympic sportsmen separately. So, we would like to have a single place to accumulate our efforts" - Salautdinov said.

According to Salautdinov, the preparation of athletes to the Paralympic Games in Tokyo in 2020, will pass through the auspices of the center, but Salautdinov did not tell the exact timing of creation of the center.

The deputy minister added that the Russia’s Paralympic national team currently consists of 47 athletes from Dagestan.
