A volleyball development program will be launched in Dagestan to popularize mass sports. Apart from the traditional volleyball, the program will include beach volleyball which is well-suited to the climatic conditions and geographical location of the region. The possibility of holding large tournaments in the region, including the Russian Beach Volleyball Championship, is also considered.

The program will also promote a school league to involve the maximum number of children. Besides, it is planned to create a volleyball center and a club "Dynamo Makhachkala" in the region. At present more than 200 thousand people in Dagestan are engaged in volleyball, about 83 thousand of them are girls. The volleyball club "Dagestan" successfully performs. This year it became the Russian Championship winner among men's teams of the higher league "B" and won a ticket to the higher league "A".
