The republican authorities have launched a large-scale initiative to promote grassroots football, establishing a School Football League and enrolling 160 educational institutions in the nationwide "Football at School" program. As a foundational step, 800 schools have introduced a third weekly physical education class focused on football, with an official plan to roll out this football lesson to every school in the region.
Elena Pavlyuchenko, serving as both the regional coordinator for the "New School" project and Chairperson of the Education and Science Committee, connected Dagestan's football legacy to its future ambitions. She emphasized that the ultimate goal of the region's sustained investment in youth football is to increase the representation of Dagestani players in the Premier League, building upon the existing success of local clubs.
The development program is notably inclusive, fostering the sport's growth among all students, as demonstrated by the active presence of 200 girls' teams across Dagestan.
