Dagestani triathlete overcomes one of world's toughest one-day races

Isa Shaydaybekov has completed one of the world's toughest one-day races, the 'ElbrusMan-2024' triathlon in Kabardino-Balkaria. Dagestani athlete competed alongside 29 other top Russian athletes.
The competitors had 20 hours to complete a total distance of 3.8 kilometres swimming in a mountain lake, followed by 195 kilometres cycling through gorges with a total elevation gain of 3,200 metres. They then completed a marathon run of 42.2 kilometres, climbing another 2,700 metres, before finishing at the foot of Mount Elbrus at an altitude of 3,847 metres at Garabashi station.
Shaydaybekov, representing the DagRun running club, managed to complete all the distances in 16 hours.
