Ismail Gajibekov has been selected to represent the Russian national weightlifting team at the upcoming European Championships, which will be held in Chisinau on April 13 - 21.

The Russian combined team has been formed based on results of the Russian National Cup, where Gusenkhan Zakaryaev’s trainees clinched the championship title for the fifth consecutive time.

"It is a great joy that Gajibekov finally gets an opportunity to compete on the international arena. I can confidently assert that Ismail has the potential to rank among the top three performers. At present, the athlete is in excellent shape. He has previously proven his dominance in his weight category within Russia. It is now time for him to showcase his skills on the European stage" - Zakaryaev, the head coach of the team says.
