Dagestani win five gold medals at international free-style wrestling tournament
Yakutsk, Yakutia region, March 11, 2015. Dagestani juniors earned five gold medals at the 3rd international free-style wrestling tournament in memory of Olympic champion Roman Dmitriev that took place March 7-8 in Yakutsk, wrestdag.ru reports.
Makhachkala’s Omaraskhab Nazhmudinov (74 kg) and Rassul Magomedov (96 kg) won their golds on March 7. The next day, 3 more Dagestanis repeated the success - Russian championship bronze medalist-2014 Emi Umarpashaev won in the 66 kg weight, European youth champion-2014 Zhavrahil Shapiev won in the 84 kg weight, and the heavyweight finalist of the Russian junior championship-2013 Assadulla Ibragimov also showed a confident win.
Dagestani world youth champion-2014 Gassangussein Badrudinov (55 kg) took the third place here in Yakutsk, and silver medalist of the European championship-2014 Magomed Dibirgadjiev (74 kg) earned silver.
The winners and medalists of the tournament got cash prizes - 40,000, 30,000, and 15,000 rubles for the 3 podium places, and the champions’ coaches got 20,000 rubles each.
Upon their return from Yakutsk, leading Dagestani juniors will begin preparing for the national championships scheduled to run March 27-29 in Ulan-Ude, Buriatia region.
