Daghestani visually impaired wrestlers win two medals at World Championships

Colorado Springs, September 9, 2014. Daghestani wrestlers with the Russian team won a gold and a silver of the world championships for the visually impaired taking place September 5-7 in USA’s Colorado Springs, chief expert of Daghestan sports ministry’s department of physical education Djamal Omarov informed RIA "Dagestan".

At the international tournament, Daghestan was represented by seven athletes; only two of them stepped on the podium. Abdulla Kuramagomed won in the 100 kg weight and Malik Kurbanov placed second in the 81 kg weight. Paralympic Games bronze medalist (2012) Shakhban Kurbanov finished a step away from the podium in the 73 kg weight.
