<yandex:full-text>
MAKHACHKALA, May 4 – RIA "Dagestan." The "Ecotour in Dagestan: VSE SVOI" project, winner of the "More Than a Journey" All-Russian Award in the Rosmolodezh.Grants competition category, brought together more than 250 young people from across Russia in April to foster a new culture of responsible tourism and preserve the region's unique natural landscapes.

Project leader Anna Romanova won the grant by presenting the experience of the "VSE SVOI TRAVEL" team at the awards ceremony. Thanks to high marks from experts the initiative elevated to the federal level under the "Youth and Children" national project.

The team now aims not only to clean up key locations in Dagestan but also to lay the foundation for a new ecological mindset among young people. The project was implemented in two stages. The educational component included a conference at Dagestan State Pedagogical University, where participants analyzed real-world environmental case studies. This was followed by a practical ecotour, during which 17 top volunteers traveled the route "Sulak Canyon – Sarykum Dune – Khunzakh Plateau" applying their knowledge in the field.

The main practical stage involved volunteers traveling to the Gotsatl Reservoir. Participants collected and sent for recycling 250 kg of PET bottles, 55 kg of metal (aluminum and iron), more than 20 bags of plastic canisters, and two bags of bottle caps. All collected materials were donated free of charge to "Ekozavod 05" for processing.

Despite these impressive figures, project leaders emphasize that volunteers address consequences, not root causes. The main problem is the lack of equipped municipal solid waste landfills in mountainous areas and the presence of unauthorized dumpsites. Waste transported to the mountains is not protected from wind, which scatters debris across villages. As a result, plastic ends up in the Avarskoye Koysu River and then flows into the Gotsatl Reservoir.

"Our goal is not just to remove trash but to draw attention to the need to address root causes" - project leader Anna Romanova says.
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
MAKHACHKALA, May 4 – RIA "Dagestan." Djamal Aliev, Director General of Makhachkala Commercial Seaport, reported a 51% increase in cargo traffic with Iran in Q1 2026. Operations with Iran face no major issues, with grain exports and cement imports growing. While other Caspian ports experienced 30%–70% declines in 2025, Makhachkala achieved nearly 5% annual growth and over 51% growth in Q1 2026.

Aliev attributed strong demand for Russian metal in Iran to the destruction of local plants. The port also intends to expand cooperation with Turkmenistan. Aliev noted in early April that while the port could boost liquid cargo by 45–50% and dry cargo severalfold, aging infrastructure is holding back development.
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
MAKHACHKALA, May 1 – RIA "Dagestan." Rizvan Gazimagomedov, Deputy Prime Minister of Dagestan, took part in a meeting of the Interdepartmental Coordination Headquarters on Wool Market Development at the Caucasus Investment Forum in Mineralnye Vody. The session was chaired by Andrey Yatskin, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Dagestan retains its leading role in wool production. With steadily increasing demand for premium wool, the republic makes a major contribution to supplying raw materials for the sector.

Dagestan accounts for 36% of Russia's wool production and over 65% of the NCFD's output, with annual volume exceeding 14,000 tons. Raw wool production is projected to rise to 15,700 tons in 2026 and 16,200 tons in 2027. In 2025, 132 agricultural producers received RUB 63 million in federal subsidies for fine and semi-fine wool, covering 1,566 tons. For the current year, RUB 84.2 million have been allocated.

The wool processing industry is supported through subsidies that help enterprises offset equipment purchase costs for wool and hide processing. Dagestan also successfully implements a 2025–2026 roadmap establishing an industrial wool processing cluster. Eight enterprises are part of the cluster, with total investments of RUB 343.6 million and 147 new jobs created.
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
MAKHACHKALA, May 1 – RIA "Dagestan." Students and experts from Central Russia, Siberia and newly incorporated territories gathered at Dagestan State University's Faculty of Management for an interregional discussion on justice and youth radicalization. The event focused on three questions related to public stability: the nature of justice in modern society, the limits of acceptable means in pursuing it and the factors that can push youth toward radicalization.

The event, organized by DSU's Coordination Center, brought together participants to discuss complex social processes. Center Head Magomed Magomedov stressed the importance of addressing sensitive topics in an academic setting with reasoned arguments and diverse viewpoints. The first discussion segment explored whether any means are permissible when pursuing justice. Attendees reached a consensus that justice is a subjective concept and that any justification of unrestricted methods could weaken legal and ethical frameworks.

One student argued that if everyone acted on their personal concept of justice, society would lose shared norms and spiral into endless conflict. Experts highlighted legal institutions and social norms as essential limits on subjective arbitrariness. Examining radicalization triggers, participants explored factors including a lack of life direction, restricted opportunities and no "sense of the future" — conditions that may push youth toward destructive behavior.

Individuals lacking opportunities for self-realization may turn to alternative methods of affirming their significance, occasionally embracing dangerous and destructive behaviors, participants noted. Students pointed to education, involvement in social and professional activities and well-defined life paths as key preventive factors.

Participants highlighted the preventive and educational benefits of the event, noting its role in building critical thinking skills and a thoughtful engagement with social issues. Interregional dialogue, which unites varied viewpoints and cultural backgrounds, received special emphasis. Magomed Magomedov resumed that DSU's Coordination Center would continue using such formats to enhance civic resilience and counter destructive ideologies among young people.
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
Rostelecom, together with its subsidiaries RT Doctis and RT MIS and the Public Health Ministry of Dagestan, has expanded the functionality of its online healthcare access service for residents of the republic through the MAX national messenger. Apart from the scheduling appointments with specialists, patients can now receive remote medical consultations. The service also allows users to view upcoming appointments, cancel them if necessary, and access information about their assigned healthcare facility. Since December 2025, Dagestan residents have made approximately one million inquiries to the "Doctor Appointment (Republic of Dagestan)" chatbot.

Ruslan Yarakhmedov, Director of Rostelecom's Dagestan Branch: "Implementation of this project was made possible through the synergy of federal agencies and regional authorities. Deploying the chatbot on regional public services portals ensures the necessary level of security and full compliance with personal data protection standards. The official chatbot of the regional Public Health Ministry has been verified and carries a special badge confirming the authenticity of its information".

The new service in the MAX messenger offers several key advantages:

1. Ease of use: Citizens no longer need to visit healthcare facilities in person to schedule appointments or receive consultations. Initial registration requires only consent to personal data processing, entry of date of birth and SNILS (Russian pension insurance number), and authorization via the Gosuslugi (Public Services) portal.

2. 24/7 availability: The chatbot provides instant support for accessing medical information and services at any time.

3. Time and resource savings: Online interaction between patients and healthcare providers reduces the need for frequent in-person visits and improves the efficiency of managing patient flows.

Yaroslav Glazov, Public Health Minister of Dagestan: "Residents of Dagestan embrace digital healthcare. Remote consultations are becoming part of everyday practice, which is especially important for providing timely medical support to people living in remote mountainous areas. We continue to improve the republican healthcare system and remove barriers to accessible medical care. The need for a remote healthcare access service was clearly demonstrated during the heavy rains and flooding that affected Dagestan towns and villages in March and April of this year".

Future development plans include adding functionality for remote issuance of sick leave certificates following online consultations and electronic processing of voluntary consent forms for medical interventions, including surgical procedures. Enhancements to data processing workflows, combined with new digital services, will further improve patient comfort and accessibility of medical care.
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
MINERALNYE VODY, April 28 – RIA "Dagestan." The Caucasus Investment Forum has commenced today in Mineralnye Vody, convening government officials, business executives and investors from both Russia and abroad. The Investment Path: Past, Present, and Future is the central theme of the event. The forum's agenda features participation of heads of governmental bodies, representatives of Russian and global corporations, media organizations, as well as youth and scientific organizations.

The forum is designed to function as a venue for conducting negotiations and formalizing business agreements focused on promoting investment initiatives and fostering public-private partnerships throughout various Russian regions. Consistent with established practice, Dagestan will present its prospective projects of significant impact at this event and intends to proactively interact with potential investors. The event is scheduled to take place on April 28 - 30.

Sergei Melikov, Head of the Republic of Dagestan, shared his expectations for the event:

"Currently, our primary focus is on providing aid to those impacted by the natural disaster and mitigating its severe consequences. Nevertheless, while prioritizing the welfare of our residents, it remains imperative not to suspend Dagestan's developmental initiatives. Conversely, this period necessitates an intensified collaboration with federal authorities, leading corporations and other Russian regions. Such cooperation aims to enhance support frameworks for the Dagestanis and to strengthen enterprises that exhibit dependability and social accountability amid these adversities. Anchored by these objectives—assisting the populace and promoting regional progress—we have established Dagestan's delegation to engage actively in the Caucasus Investment Forum".
</yandex:full-text>

 <yandex:full-text>
MAKHACHKALA, April 27 – RIA "Dagestan." Emin Merdanov, the regional Minister of Tourism and Folk-Art Crafts, projects a resurgence in tourist influx to the republic during May. The official acknowledged that recent demand experienced a slight contraction attributable to natural calamities. However, the Russian Union of Travel Industry recently reported that Dagestan was among the Russian regions exhibiting upward trends in tourism metrics.

Merdanov anticipates that demand will recover robustly in May and sustain momentum throughout the summer season. He expects the persistent growth in traveler interest toward Dagestan, which has characterized recent years, to continue. Although a temporary downturn in demand was observed, the ministry is committed to implementing strategic measures to reinvigorate it.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the tourism sector proceeded with the official opening of the season, initiating activities proactively. The season traditionally commences with a trail running competition, recognized as one of Russia’s premier cross-country races.

As to Merdanov, the event consistently ranks within the top two for participant volume nationwide, underscoring sustained market engagement. Athletes traveled from across the country to compete. Footage from the event shows that, despite snow and challenging conditions, participants persevered and completed the race successfully—indicating resilient demand and robust consumer enthusiasm for Dagestan as a travel destination.
</yandex:full-text>
