Dagestan authorities intend to boost textile industry in region
The Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Dagestan Nizam Khalilov delivered report on the plans to develop textile industry in the region at the regular sitting of government chaired by the Prime Minister A.Abdulmuslimov.
As to Khalilov, the region plans to implement three projects to build a textile factory in Makhachkala, as well as sewing workshops in Kaspiysk and in the village of Karata in Ahvakhsky municipal district.
"Taking into account Dagestan's leading position in Russia by the quantity of small cattle, the republic annually produces 29% of the total wool production in the country. Therefore, the organization of wool processing and the production of yarn and tops out of it becomes a promising direction for the regional economy.
In general, if we speak about the prospects of the industry, we plan to implement projects with a total investment of about 500 million rubles, with the creation of 140 new jobs"- Khalilov said.
