Economic and cultural relations between Russia and Iran discussed at round table in Makhachkala
Makhachkala, April 8, 2017. The round table, timed to the anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, has been held April 6 in the Friendship House in Makhachkala.
The representatives of the Ministry for National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan, the representatives of national communities and national-cultural autonomies, the teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of DSU took part in the event. The round table participants discussed economic and cultural relations between Russia and Iran, as well as the present-day Iran and the development of its cultural, traditional and national holidays.
The deputy Minister for National Policy of the Republic of Dagestan Arsen Makhmudov noted that this event had become traditional. "Our cooperation within the framework of the all-Russia’s course is quite active. The prospects and the opportunities that we have ahead of us have not yet been revealed. Iran is interested in cooperation with Dagestan in the development and creation of "green corridor", the use of our trade port and logistics. We have common economic and historic relations" - Mahmudov said.
The Head of the Center for Iranian Studies at Dagestan State University, the chairman of the Iranian community in Dagestan, Nuri Mammadzade expressed gratitude to the Friendship House located in Makhachkala for organizing the roundtable on the Day of the Republic of Iran. "I am very glad that such an event is held for the third year already. This is a very good tradition, when the national days of independence are celebrated here. This unites our peoples, provides an opportunity to get familiarized with the culture of peoples of the neighboring countries".
