Photo exhibition "Derbent – 2000. Crossroads of Civilizations" opens in Moscow
Makhachkala, September 14, 2015. The photo exhibition "Derbent – 2000. Crossroads of Civilizations" opens tomorrow September 14 in Chistoprudny Boulevard in Moscow, the permanent representation of the republic of Dagestan under the Russian Federation President reports.
The exhibition is organized as part of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated November 21, 2012 №1559 “On celebrating the 2000th anniversary of the city of Derbent, the Republic of Dagestan."
The event will bring together the State Duma deputies, the representatives of the republican authorities, the members of the Public Council at the permanent representation of Dagestan, the representatives of scientific and creative intelligentsia and students.
"Derbent is a treasure of world civilization. The information about Derbent is found in the works of well-known historians, geographers and travelers of ancient times. Few cities in the world possess such rare historical and architectural monuments.
The citadel "Naryn-Kala" is included into the World Heritage List of UNESCO. For centuries Derbent was a hospitable home for many nations and cultures, symbolizing the connection of times and the greatness of Russian history ", - the organizers say.
