Suleyman Stalsky House Museum restored in Dagestan
Makhachkala, May 18, 2017. The House-Museum of the People's Poet of Dagestan Suleyman Stalsky has been fully restored after fire in the village of Ashag-Stal located in Suleiman-Stalsky district of the Republic of Dagestan. The official opening ceremony of the Museum has taken place today, May 18, the press service of the republican government informs.
The big fire in the museum occurred on the night of 21 to 22 March in 2016. The construction, repair and restoration and finishing works have been fully completed by March 22 of the current year. Besides, the territory of the Museum has been gentrified. The Moscow Charitable Foundation "Territory of Good" rendered an active sponsorship assistance for the restoration. The “Embassy of Moscow” LLC (Derbent) acted as the contractor general for the restoration works.
Suleiman Stalsky’s house museum is located in a building built by the poet himself in 1934. Here he lived until his death in 1937.
