Azerbaijan thanks Russia for its assistance in peaceful settlement of Karabakh crisis
Makhachkala, May 13, 2016. Azerbaijani leadership expressed gratitude to Russia for its recent efforts in peaceful settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
"We are grateful to Russia for its assistance in in peaceful settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Azerbaijan is a supporter of peace in the region", - the speaker of the Milli Majlis (Parliament of Azerbaijan) Ogtay Asadov said at the opening of the Days of Culture of Dagestan in Baku.
Recall the conflict between the two South Caucasian countries started in 1988 when both countries made territorial claims on the Nagorno-Karabakh region. In May 1994, the parties reached a cease-fire consent. Until nowadays, the parties are holding peace negotiations under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chaired by Russia, France and the US.
