Makhachkala, May 12, 2016. The Head of the republic of Dagestan Ramzan Abdulatipov has attended today the solemn opening ceremony of the memorial complex to the public and political figure of the USSR and Azerbaijan Aziz Aliyev in Makhachkala.
At the beginning of the ceremony, the mayor of Makhachkala Musa Musayev noted that the opening of the monument to the outstanding public and political figures of Dagestan and Azerbaijan Aziz Aliyev became a significant event in the life of Dagestani capital.
"Aziz Aliyev's name occupies well-deserved position among among the leaders of Dagestan. Aliyev led our republic in difficult war years. Under his leadership, the region executed a huge military mobilization work, successfully responded to the challenges emerging in the post-war period and demilitarized the economy and directed it toward the prosperity and development"- Musayev confessed.
Then Ramazan Abdulatipov took the floor. Having thanked all those involved in efforts to create the memorial complex named after Aziz Aliyev, Abdulatipov noted that the initiative for the establishment of the complex belonged to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Abdulatipov also added that a large delegation from the Republic departed for Azerbaijan to participate in the Days of Dagestan aimed at strengthening ties between the two parties and will provide, in his opinion, a new impetus for further economic and cultural cooperation.
