State company developed messenger to be tested in North Caucasian regions
Makhachkala, January 19, 2017. A messenger developed by state company is now being tested in 14 subjects of the Russian Federation. In the near future it will be introduced in the other 18 regions, including the North Caucasian Federal District, the Institute for Internet Development informs. Ingushetia, North Ossetia, Dagestan and Chechnya have joined the testing project. "We are confident that the regions can provide quality recommendations to be later included into the final Terms of Reference" - the director for project activities department of the Institute of Internet Arseniy Scheltsin said.
Recall the Russian Federation Economic Development Ministry is responsible for developing and mainstreaming the state messenger. The department maintains the position that the use of applications designed by foreign developers is impractical. In May 2016, the Ministry sent the Russian President Vladimir Putin a report, in which, the agency officials spoke on the necessary to prohibit public servants to use foreign messengers for work correspondence.
