The Turkish news media considers that the Syrian truce was achieved due to diplomatic efforts of official Ankara. The US and Russia have agreed to start the truce in Syria after intense push from the Turkish side and Ankara’s close diplomatic cooperation with the both countries, the Turkish newspaper “Star” reports.
The weekly notes that Turkey did a significant contribution in the process of negotiations between the United States and Russia to reach a breakthrough deal on military cooperation in Syria, in distribution of humanitarian aid and in the work for peaceful and political transition in the SAR.
The newspaper also cites an expert on the Middle East, Professor Ebubekir Sofuoğlu who pursues an opinion that Syrian truce was a big success of Erdogan who discussed the issue of a truce in Aleppo and Syria with the US and Russian presidents on the sidelines of the G20 summit in China.
