Dagestan to host All-Russian forum for inter-religious cooperation
Makhachkala, December 7, 2015. On December 9, the All-Russian Forum for inter-religious cooperation in the fight against terrorism will take place in Makhachkala with the participation of Dagestani Head Ramazan Abdulatipov, the press-service of Dagestan Committee on Religious Affairs reports.
"The forum will be attended by Dagestani Head, the representatives of federal authorities, legislators of different levels, heads of religious confessions of Russia, authoritative representatives of the Muslim, Orthodox and Jewish communities from different regions of the Russian Federation, religious scholars, journalists and public figures," – the spokesperson noted.
The main goals of the conference devoted to the religious themes will be to discuss the countering religious extremism and terrorism, how to maintain peace and stability in the society, spiritual, moral and patriotic education of the population, strengthening interfaith relations.
"It is planned to discuss the issues related to the situation in the Middle East, in particular the Syrian Arab Republic and Iraq through the prism of its impact on the socio-political and religious situation in the different regions of Russia", - the spokesperson added.
The other main objective discussed within the forum will become to strengthen the cooperation between the representatives of the traditional religions of the Russian Federation, public authorities and the civil society for the preservation of peace and stability in society.
