Khalil Fataliyev's memorial plaque installed in Dagestan State University
Makhachkala, September 2, 2015. The solemn memorial plaque opening ceremony to the prominent scientific and public figure Khalil Fataliyev who led the University in difficult war years took place September 1 in front of the main building of Dagestan State University on Korkmasov street in Makhachkala.
As to the DSU rector Murtazali Rabadanov, paying tribute to Khalil Fataliyev, Dagestan State University together with the initiative group from among the relatives and former colleagues of the scientist made a proposal to the leadership of the republic and the city administration to perpetuate the memory of the scientist. The proposal was approved and then the Head of the Republic of Ramazan Abdulatipov issued a corresponding decree in April 2015. The event was timed to the Day of Knowledge.
The rector noted that in 2015 the scientific community of the republic marks Fataliyev’s 100-year anniversary. The University, according to Murtazali Rabadanov, held a series of commemorative events. Besides, in his speech Murtazali Rabadanov noted the brightest periods in Khalil Fataliyev’s life.
Noteworthy, Khalil Fataliyev guided the work on preparation of three-volume work "Philosophical problems of natural science." Fataliyev’s works “Science in society”, “Dialectical materialism and natural science questions" were awarded with the Lomonosov Prize.
The scientist was awarded with the Order of Red Banner of Labor, "Badge of Honor" and medals "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War", "For the defense of the Caucasus", he was a member of the editorial board of several scientific journals, a member of the Academic Council of the Institute of Philosophy of the USSR Academy, lecturer at the CPSU Central Committee.
He has written more than 60 scientific articles. The main direction of his research work was the philosophical and methodological understanding of the problems both natural and socio-political nature. Fataliyev died on October 23, 1959 at the age of 44 in a plane crash.
