Monument to Daghestani national poet Rasul Gamzatov unveiled in Yalova
Makhachkala, August 26, 2014. А bust of the national poet of Dagestan Rasul Gamzatov has been unveiled in the park in front of City Hall in the Turkish city of Yalova. The grand opening ceremony was attended by the mayor of Yalova Vefa Salman, the mayor of Khasavyurt Saigidpasha Umahanov, the deputy Head of Daghestan Representation at the Russian Federation Trade Mission in Turkey Magomed Aliev, the poet's daughter Salikhat Gamzatova, the representatives of the Russian Consulate in Istanbul, and other officials and guests of the XI International Festival of Dance and Music of peoples of the Caucasus.
Dagestan delegation headed by the mayor of Khasavyurt Saigidpasha Umakhanov arrived in Turkey on the occasion of bust unveiling ceremony, has been warmly received by the provincial governor Esengyul Dzhivelek. The meeting was also attended by the head of Daghestan diaspora in Yalova Mehmet Aydemir and poet’s daughter Salikhat Gamzatova.
Then the guests visited Mayor’s Office of Yalova. The Mayor of Khasavyurt Saigidpasha Umahanov transmitted welcome words to mayor Yalova from part of the Head of the republic of Daghestan Ramazan Abdulatipov and thanked the Turkish side for support and assistance in installation of the bust in Yalova.
