Makhachkala, August 28, 2015. Three Dagestani freestyle wrestlers, as a part of the Russian national team will participate in the world championship in the city of Sarajevo on August 29 to 30, the website wrestdag.ru reports.
Abasgadzhi Magomedov (54 kg), Soslan Guchakov (58 kg), Khayrulla Nuradinov (63 kg) will act for the Russian team at the world championship. Apart from Dagestani athletes, Ivan Okoneshnikov (42 kg), Alexei Kopylov (46 kg), Peter Konstantinov (50 kg) will represent Yakutia, Slavik Naniev (69 kg) - KhMAO-Alania, Aslanbek Gvaramia (76 kg) - Moscow region, Soslan Lavoev (85 kg)- Alan Crimea, Soslan Khinchagov (100 kg)- Alanya.
"Traditionally, we chose the winners of the Russian championship. There was no point to identify the best sportsmen in the battles. It would be quite another matter, if we had an opportunity to test them in the international tournament. It is always important to know how our athletes can perform abroad, and taking into account this aspect, we will modify the teams.
Today, only Soslan Lavoev possesses the needed experience to act for the national team; last year he became the third prizewinner of the World Championship. What about other sportsmen, they are the debutants and have the potential to compete for the top. A great deal will depend on how they are able to cope with the excitement and to fight for a win"- the head coach of the junior national team Anzor Tembotov said.
On Saturday, August 29, the wrestlers in the weight category up to 42, 50, 58, 69 and 85 kg will compete.
