Daghestani weightlifter wins silver of Russian championship
Stary Oskol, Belgorod region, November 19, 2014. Daghestan’s Ferziyat Ismailova won silver of the Russian weightlifting championships taking place 10-16 November in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region, Daghestani weightlifters’ chief coach Olhuzor Elmurzaev told RIA "Daghestan".
In the double event of the 53 kg weight, Ismailova finished with 141 kg (64 kg in the snatch plus 77 kg in the clean and jerk) securing the second place. The medal earned by the trainee of the sports school of Sabnava village, Derbent region, proved to be the only one for Daghestan team represented by seven athletes at the tournament.
The Russia championships for youth born in 1996 (under 19 years of age) brought together over 250 athletes from 40 regions of the country.
