Duel Rustam Khabilov vs Ben Henderson to become the main event at UFC on June 7
Makhachkala, March 20, 2014. The Russian mixed style fighter Rustam Khabilov will challenge the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) against the former world champion, American Benson Henderson. As it was announced, the bout will be held in Albuquerque (United States, New Mexico) on June 7 and is expected to become the main event of the UFC tournament in "Tingley Coliseum" arena.
The victory over the top- level opponent Benson Henderson will make Rustam Khabilov one of the best fighters of UFC’s light heavyweight division and allow Daghestani sportsman to get to windward of his compatriot Habib Nurmagomedov and possibly bring him the title of the official challenger for the championship belt.
Habib Nurmagomedov has recently intended to fight with Henderson, but instead he would have to fight with Rafael Dos Años on April 19. Khabilov spent 18 professional boxing fights of which he won in 17. At the UFC, he debuted in May 2012 and won all three fights.
As a result, a little-known sportsman from Russia entered the list of best fighters in the light weight category. Earlier this year, he has had to compete against the Brazilian Rafael Dos Años , but broke his finger and refused to fight .
Henderson, performing in the mixed martial arts since 2006, won eight bouts. In January 2014, he had gotten in the ring for the last time and defeated Josh Tomlinson.
