Approx. 5 million eggs have been imported from Turkey and Azerbaijan through the state border to Dagestan during the first week of April. These eggs are intended for further processing in Russia, the regional Department of the Rosselkhoznadzor (Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision) across the Republic of Dagestan reports. Overall, more than 50 million eggs were shipped to Russia in the first quarter of 2024.
