An exhibition dedicated to the decorative and applied arts of Dagestan has opened at Kaspiysk Local History Museum. The exhibition is organized by Makhachkala Art Museum and the Center for Ethnic Culture, in collaboration with the Center for Traditional Culture in Kaspiysk.

The exhibit features more than 40 pieces of folk art from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, including pottery, copperware, engraved utensils, carpets, and old women's shawls. The organizers chose these items to showcase the handicraft traditions from different regions of Dagestan, such as Balkhar, Sulevkent, Juli, and Southern Dagestan, including Derbent.

According to the organizers, they are deeply inspired by these works of folk art that were created more than a century ago and they strive to preserve and study the rich cultural heritage passed down from their ancestors.
