Dagestan branch of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision recently hosted a field seminar on cultivating domestic cabbage in Urma village, Levashinsky district. This event highlighted the significant rise in the use of domestically produced cabbage seeds within the republic, increasing from a mere 1% to over 20% in just five years.

During the seminar, agricultural experts and local farmers evaluated the performance of eighteen new hybrid cabbage varieties, all exhibiting promising results when cultivated under local soil conditions. The seminar was attended by notable figures, including Sharip Sharipov, first Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan, Grigory Monakhos Director of the N.Timofeev Breeding Station affiliated with the Russian State Agricultural Academy named after K. Timiryazev, Zainutdin Saipulaev head of the Rosselkhoznadzor department and representatives the of Levashinsky district agricultural community.

Discussions emphasized the growing competitiveness of domestic cabbage seeds compared to imported varieties, underscoring their increasing adoption by farmers in the region.
