Azerbaijan and Dagestan launch joint venture on growing nectarines

Nectarine and cherry orchards will be planted in Dagestan with the assistance of an Azerbaijani investor, the press service of territorial body of the Rosselkhozcenter (federal state budgetary institution Russian Agricultural Center) across Dagestan reports. Azerbaijani investor will invest in the development of horticulture in Dagestan. The parties plan to lay gardens of cherries, nectarines, peaches and start cultivation of olive trees.
"Signing of agreements with representatives of Azerbaijani company ISFA and Dagestan company S.R.Plast took place in Dagestan. As part of the agreements reached, the parties outlined plans for joint development of projects in the field of horticulture" - press release of Rosselkhozcenter runs.
It is specified that implementation of such projects also contributes to reduction of dependence on import of agricultural products and promotes development of export of own goods. Thus, investments of Azerbaijani investor in horticultural projects in Dagestan open new horizons for the development of not only local economy, but also the agricultural sector of the country as a whole. This step is an important step towards strengthening economic ties between the states and contributes to the sustainable development of the agricultural sector.
