The Republic of Dagestan has entered the list of top three regions in the North Caucasian Federal District in the volume of multi-family housing construction.

According to the data provided by the DOM.RF analytical center, as of the end of March this year, the North Caucasian Federal District was in the process of constructing 4.3 million square meters of housing, representing a 26% increase compared to 2024.

It is worth noting that the district has been experiencing a positive trend since 2022. The majority of the construction projects (75%) are concentrated in Stavropol Territory, Dagestan and Chechnya. In 2022, Dagestan saw the commissioning of 2.9 million square meters of housing, which is a 1.8-fold increase compared to the previous year.

However, there are some drawbacks to this progress. Despite the growth in construction volume, Dagestan still faces the challenge of unplanned development, which occurs without considering zoning and is characterized by high density.
