The "Beekeeping in the Caucasus" forum has been held in the village of Kasumkent, Suleiman-Stalsky municipal district of Dagestan. The large-scale event brought together leading experts, industry representatives from Russia, Belarus, China, as well as the representatives of government authorities, scientific institutions, public organizations and beekeepers from different regions of Dagestan.

The forum facilitated discussions on enhancing product quality, integrating novel technologies and fostering collaborative initiatives within the beekeeping sector. Participants further deliberated on potential government support mechanisms to promote beekeeping development and explored avenues for collaboration between the industry and scientific institutions. Issues related to ecology, protection of bees and veterinary and sanitary requirements for bee products were also considered.

Beekeepers have been informed on the requirement to register their hives in the Federal State Information System (FGIS) Mercury and the process for obtaining certification for their honey under Dagestan product brand. This informational session was jointly organized by the Association of Dagestani Beekeepers and the Guild of Honey Sommeliers of Russia.
