Since the beginning of the year the volume of fish processing has increased 3 times in Dagestan, the regional Committee on Fisheries reports. According to the latest data, food enterprises in the region processed 600 tons of fish in the first half of this year. For comparison, during the same period in 2023, only 200 tons were processed.

The significant increase in fish processing was achieved by expanding the capacity of the local fishing shops. Besides, the catch of aquatic resources amounted to approximately 21 thousand tons over the past six months.
