For 8 months of 2024 in Dagestan more than 21 thousand tons of fish were caught. The main volume of caught fish is sprat (about 18 thousand tons). Herring (1 thousand tons) is in the second place by the volume of production, carp (441 tons) is in the third place.

A total of 20 vessels are engaged in fishing. According to Rosrybolovstvo (Federal Agency for Fishery of the Russian Federation), sprat fishing is currently suspended due to high temperatures. Sprat fishing will resume on September 15. Dagestan fishermen are currently harvesting mullet.
