Cargo transshipment at Makhachkala commercial seaport increased by 3% in the first five months of 2024, the analytical department of Morcenter-TEK JSC reports. The total volume of cargo handled made 1,179,000 tons, compared to 1,145,000 tons in the same period last year.

This increase was driven by a 27.2% growth in dry cargo and a slight decrease in liquid cargo. The main types of cargo handled include oil and oil products, grain, cement, mineral fertilizers and fishery products. Grain transshipment saw the most significant growth, followed by fishery products and cement shipments.
