Over the period from 2010 to 2024, Dagestan witnessed a remarkable surge in hotel accommodations, increasing nearly in 22 times from 318 to 6,940. Concurrently, the number of tourist destinations expanded significantly, rising from 19,000 in 2010 to 5,759 in 2024. These figures underscore the extensive efforts undertaken by the local authorities to enhance tourism infrastructure in Dagestan.
Furthermore, overnight stays have experienced a notable upswing. While fewer than 200 individuals stayed overnight in 2010, this figure surpassed 1,500 in 2024, signifying a growing appeal of Dagestan among both domestic and international tourists.
A particular emphasis has been placed on the development of recreation and wellness infrastructure within Dagestan, attracting an increasing number of tourists seeking health and wellness experiences. Approximately 76% of incoming visitors cite leisure and recreational purposes as their primary reason for travel, underscoring Dagestan's burgeoning reputation as a destination for family vacations and outdoor pursuits.
