According to Travelata.ru, vacation tours within Russia rose by an average of 12.5%, to 38,000 rubles. Sergey Romashkin, the director general of the Dolphin tour operator, notes that in winter the flow of tourists to domestic destinations decreased by 3-4% year-on-year, but still turned out to be higher compared to the pre-crisis levels.
The number of tourists within the country, according to Romashkin, may reduce by 5-10% compared to 2021. This, he believes, will be facilitated by an increase in the flow to Turkey and the expectation of opening borders to the Europe.
Earlier, on January 29, at the government meeting, the Head of Dagestan, Sergei Melikov, pointed out that tourism was showing good performance: in 2021, the tourist flow amounted to over 1 million people, which is 30% higher than in 2020. In the summer of 2021, Dagestan became the country's leader in booking vacation air tickets. For 12 months, Makhachkala airport served more than 2 million passengers.
