On April 15th, Arzamas Drama Theatre visited Lezgi State Musical Drama Theatre in Derbent, as part of the Federal Programme "Big Tour" organized by the Rosconcert Federal State Budgetary Company.

Alexander Ivanov, theatre's chief director, noted that it was not the first time that the team participated in the touring program. This time, they had the wonderful opportunity to exchange tours with the Republic of Dagestan, and in particular Derbent, something they were very pleased about.

Audiences in Derbent have already seen the fairy tale play "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" as well as the drama "Don't Leave Me". According to the director, the latter play is particularly relevant this year, which marks the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Ivanov added that the play was dedicated to the young scouts who sacrificed their lives for their country.

A performance of Anton Chekhov's classic play "The Seagull" will take place tonight.

"We are very glad to be in the old and hospitable city of Derbent. The people here are friendly and open-minded, and we hope that you will also feel comfortable when your theater comes to Arzamas in September" – the theater director Marina Shvetsova shared her impressions.
