Dagestan among top Russian regions in spread of folk-art crafts

The International Folk-Art Crafts’ Keepers Festival in Makhachkala commenced today with a plenary session titled "Strategic Directions for the Development of Folk-Art Crafts in Modern Economic Conditions".
Dagestan Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, initiated the discussion, highlighting region’s prominent position within Russia for its preservation of numerous traditional craft forms. The session, hosted by the National Library named after Rasul Gamzatov, brought together representatives of governmental bodies, the business secto, and tourism industry experts from across the country to address contemporary challenges and future prospects for the development of folk crafts (presumably meaning "intangible cultural heritage" or a similar term).
Abdulmuslimov underscored the festival's growing popularity and significance in preserving cultural heritage. The top official emphasized the importance of Dagestan's folk crafts which he described as both a national treasure and an integral part of the region's spiritual identity. The prime minister further urged attendees to identify key issues and develop proposals for supporting and promoting these crafts, as they contribute to the creative economy and enhance the region's investment attractiveness.
