Dagestan State Puppet Theater presented the first show of the play "Thumbelina" at the VII International Puppet Festival in China.

In the new reading of "Thumbelina" by G.-H. Andersen the story is led by three travelers. One of them sits down at an abandoned piano, presses the keys, giving birth to a simple, unpretentious melody. Suddenly a flower, forgotten by someone, comes to life on the piano. A little girl is born fr om the flower and that's wh ere the search for happiness begins. Through long and painful research, she discovers the truth: happiness is in the soul, in flight, in freedom, not in material goods.

The audience and colleagues from the other countries highly appreciated the performance by Dagestani puppeteers, despite the language barrier.
