Stavropol Regional Museum of Fine Arts has established a good tradition to showcase the cultural heritage of neighboring regions. In continuation of this practice, the museum will collaborate with Dagestan Aul Museum-Reserve (Makhachkala) to present the exhibition "Patterns and Rhythms of the Caucasus" on June 27th. This unique project offers a comprehensive exploration of Dagestani fine and decorative arts, highlighting the region's remarkable cultural diversity.
The exhibition is designed to engage a wide audience, the art enthusiasts, cultural experts and the general public. Visitors can see the diverse collection of over 100 artworks created by thirty Dagestani artists. Paintings depicting ancient mountain villages and stunning landscapes, portraits of mountaineers adorned in elaborate traditional costumes, as well as the exquisite examples of traditional craftsmanship will collectively create a vivid picture of Dagestan's rich cultural heritage.
The opening day will feature engaging masterclasses led by Dagestani artisans in jewelry making, leatherwork and traditional embroidery techniques. Furthermore, guests will be treated to a demonstration of women's folk costumes and a captivating performance by the State Dance Ensemble of Dagestan "Kaspiy".
