Makhachkala's public transport fleet will be expanded with 84 new buses starting January 1, 2026, under the national "Infrastructure for Life" project. The new fleet will include 11 large-capacity, 57 medium-capacity, and 16 small-capacity buses to optimize service across different city routes.

As to Mayor Djambulat Salavov, this initiative represents a significant step in modernizing the city's transport network. "The variety of bus types will allow us to optimize the route network, account for passenger traffic variations and ensure efficient service for both central and outlying districts" - Salavov stated. The top official also highlighted the project's role in improving passenger comfort and enhancing the city's environmental situation.

The acquisition is financed through a preferential leasing program with JSC "State Transport Leasing Company," and the new buses will be equipped with an automated fare collection system. Additionally, the city has allocated at least 600 million rubles in its 2026 budget for maintaining these transport routes.
