The Republic of Dagestan and the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) have formalized a partnership aimed at fostering comprehensive socio-economic development in the region. The regional governor Sergei Melikov and Director General of ASI Svetlana Chupsheva have signed the agreement that outlines a collaborative framework to implement projects across diverse sectors including social welfare, entrepreneurship, technology, human resources, environmental sustainability and climate action.
The primary objectives encompass the promotion of economic expansion within regional boundaries, the encouragement of commercial ventures and enterprises, the enhancement of tourism facilities incorporating industrial and culinary aspects, the cultivation of creative sectors, the execution of collaborative territorial development initiatives and the provision of all-encompassing restoration assistance for those engaged in the Special Military Operation and their families.
Chupsheva emphasized ASI's commitment to assisting regions in realizing impactful projects and integrating best practices, highlighting the agency's role in driving positive change across the country.
Melikov underscored the significance of this partnership for Dagestan, citing the republic's burgeoning investment potential. He outlined four crucial areas of collaboration: business and entrepreneurship support, integrated territorial development programs, creative industry development and continued care for participants in the Special Military Operation and their families.
Dagestan has demonstrated notable progress in its investment ranking, as assessed by ASI in conjunction with business associations. The republic has already surpassed its targets for the number of SMEs per capita by 2030 and simplified land lease procedures without bidding by 2027. This new agreement is expected to further enhance the investment climate, elevate the quality of social services, and promote the adoption of best management practices throughout the region.
