Commission for UNESCO to resume its work in Dagestan

The representatives of the Russian Commission for UNESCO have arrived with an official visit to Dagestan. The UN officials discuss issues related to resuming the work of the Commission in the republic.
On June 11 the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Dagestan Zarema Butayeva, met with Dmitry Darchenkov, the head of the Division-Secretariat of the Commission of the Russian Federation for UNESCO and Aysura Belekova, an advisor of the Division, both from the Department for Multilateral Humanitarian Cooperation and Cultural Relations of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of the Russian Federation. They discussed the importance of resuming the activities of the UNESCO Commission in Dagestan.
At the meeting, both parties recognized the significant potential of the republic in the areas of education and culture and emphasized the importance of centralizing the work of the Commission and exchanging experiences with colleagues from other regions. The minister voiced her support for this idea. In response, Darchenkov emphasized the importance of Dagestan's rich natural and cultural heritage.
