During the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Sergei Melikov, Head of Dagestan, met with Alexey Miller, Chairman of Gazprom's Management Committee, at the company's Lakhta Center headquarters. The parties focused on the issues of accelerating gas infrastructure development in Dagestan.

Gazprom plans to commence construction of gas infrastructure in 21 settlements within Dahadaevsky and Kizlyar districts by 2025, thereby providing natural gas access to thousands of households.  To enhance supply reliability, modernization efforts are underway at the "Majalis" (Kaytagsky district) and "Okhranklar" (Makhachkala) gas distribution stations, building on the successful completion of similar upgrades at 20 other gas distribution stations in the republic.

Furthermore, under the federal pre-gasification program, complimentary gas network connections have been established for 8,100 sites, with over 5,000 families already utilizing gas following equipment installation.

Gazprom is actively consolidating Dagestan's gas networks under its management, a process governed by a detailed roadmap aimed at enhancing gas supply safety, eliminating outdated infrastructure and minimizing accidents.

Following the meeting, Sergey Melikov expressed his gratitude to Gazprom for their consistent efforts in the republic, emphasizing the critical role of gasification in improving quality of life and driving economic progress. Since 2021, gasification has reached 158 villages in Dagestan, increasing the region's gas coverage from 67% to 82%. An additional 30 settlements are projected to be connected by the end of 2025.
