Dagestan and Oman plan to establish direct flights

During the business forum "Oman-Russia: Government of Dagestan" in Muscat, Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov, the Chairman of the regional Government, announced an intention to establish direct flights between Muscat and Makhachkala, the administrative center of Dagestan.

Negotiations between business representatives fr om Dagestan and Oman as well as several Russian companies were held at the Forum. Abdulmuslimov emphasized that the launch of these flights would significantly boost the implementation of joint projects. The Omani side expressed its support for this idea.

Furthermore, both parties agreed to develop tourism exchanges between their respective regions and signed agreements on cooperation between Omani entrepreneurs and Dagestani tourism organizations.

In his remarks to journalists, Mr. Abdulmuslimov underscored Dagestan's keen interest in fostering cooperation with Oman in the areas of agriculture, particularly in terms of supplying agricultural products, as well as in the industrial sector, wh ere cooperation could involve the provision of equipment for various industries. However, it is in the realm of tourism that the potential for collaboration holds the most significance.

Dagestan, one of Russia's premier tourist destinations, annually attracts approximately 2 million visitors. Establishing a cooperative venture in tourism with Oman has the potential to contribute significantly to the growth and development of the tourism industry in this region.
