The Caspian Coastal Cluster project has facilitated substantial investments in Dagestan, amounting to several tens of billions RUB. This influx of capital will contribute to the development of new hospitality infrastructure, including hotels, and the enhancement of existing tourist destinations within the republic.
As of June this year, agreements secured through the Caspian Coastal Cluster initiative have yielded RUB 63 billion for Dagestan. Emin Merdanov, head of Dagestan's Ministry of Tourism, highlighted the project's objective to bolster the region's tourism sector. The development plan anticipates the opening of nearly three dozen hotels and guesthouses across various districts by 2027, collectively capable of accommodating over 13,000 visitors.
Furthermore, the Ministry projects a notable increase in tourist arrivals this year. Dagestan aims to welcome approximately two million tourists in 2023, representing an 11% growth compared to the previous year's figures.
