An interdepartmental commission meeting focused on combating informal employment has been convened in Makhachkala, chaired by Dagestan's Deputy Prime Minister Abdurakhman Makhmudov. The meeting participants reviewed progress made during the first half of the year and outlined strategies for further reducing the shadow economy.
The regional Labor Relations Minister Magomedzagid Kihasurov reported that over 20,000 individuals had transitioned from informal to formal employment since the beginning of the year. This achievement represents nearly 68% of the annual target. However, certain districts, including Rutulsky, Kumtorkalinsky, Tlyaratinsky, Magaramkentsky, Novolaksky and Kaitagsky were identified as needing improvement in their efforts.
Deputy Prime Minister Makhmudov urged municipal leaders to intensify collaboration with law enforcement agencies and conduct joint on-site inspections. The top official emphasized the importance of information sharing with the Federal Tax Service and public awareness campaigns regarding formal employment benefits.
Based on a nine-month performance evaluation, the effectiveness of interdepartmental group leaders in municipalities will be assessed at an upcoming Government meeting, with potential organizational decisions.
Besides, the Deputy Prime Minister has mandated an audit of activities of the interdepartmental groups in selected municipalities in order to verify the accuracy of the data and gather information regarding legal actions against illegal business practices.
