During a virtual conference call Dagestani Prime Minister Abdulmuslim Abdulmuslimov and Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Andrey Nikitin have discussed the implementation of directives issued by the President regarding unmanned aerial systems (UAS).

Minister Nikitin stressed the significance of harmonizing regional regulations for drones with federal guidelines established by the Ministry of Transport. This harmonization, Nikitin argued, would alleviate unnecessary restrictions, enabling professional operators to exploit UAS for economic gain within their respective regions. Moreover, such standardization would streamline the process of obtaining permits for all users.

Besides, the Ministry of Transport actively works to create a legal framework aimed at fostering the development of civilian UAS operations. A special class of airspace – “H” for drone operations has been established.

The government of Dagestan has launched a long-term program extending until 2030 aimed to promote the development and use of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology in the region. The program recognizes the significant potential of this technology and includes a competitive funding scheme to establish a dedicated research and development center. This center will focus on advanced testing and the cultivation of specialized knowledge in the field of UAS.
