Dagestan authorities have successfully conducted a test of readiness to counter terrorist threats to rail transport.

The scheduled anti-terrorist drills were held in Dagestan on March 12 - 13. The operational headquarters in the city of Buynaksk organized the events, during which the readiness of subdivisions of territorial bodies of federal executive authorities to perform tasks to counter terrorist manifestations at railway transport facilities was tested.
As part of the exercise, the situational reaction of law enforcement bodies to terrorist acts was practiced. Special units were trained in defusing explosive devices, suppressing sabotage and minimizing its consequences at transport infrastructure facilities.

A set of measures was developed to improve the system of cooperation between the authorities and local authorities in dealing with the consequences of terrorist acts. The exercise management gave a positive assessment of the readiness of the bodies and units involved in counter-terrorism operations on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan.
