An ambitious project to build a commercial data processing center (DPC) has been launched in Khasavyurt district of Dagestan. At a meeting led by Deputy Prime Minister Rizvan Gazimagomedov, implementation issues related to providing energy infrastructure and connecting to communication networks were discussed in detail. Special attention was paid to coordinating technical aspects and scheduling work.
As to the top official, the creation of the data center would attract more than RUB 5 billion of investment to the republic, give an impetus to the development of the digital economy, create skilled jobs and increase the competitiveness of local businesses. Evgeny Virtser, general director of Key Point Group LLC, thanked the government of the republic for its support and promised to do everything possible to ensure timely completion of the project.
The DPC will accommodate between 500 and 2,000 employees and provide secure data storage and processing. It is envisioned as a cornerstone for regional digital infrastructure development, accelerating the digital transformation of key economic sectors. The facility is projected to create over 30 high-tech jobs.
According to Evgeny Virtser, 44 server racks will be allocated for the needs of state information systems in the republic. A land plot in the village of Andy has been identified, and a contract for technical connection to the electric grid has been signed. Necessary technical conditions have also been obtained. Temporary power supply is provided for the construction period. The project documentation received positive expert opinions.
The initial phase is scheduled for completion by August 2026, with operational launch anticipated in the autumn of 2026.
