Dagestani branch of Rospotrebnadzor, Russia's consumer rights watchdog, has confirmed a stable radiation environment in the republic. This stability is attributed to ongoing monitoring efforts following radioactive contamination originating from Iran's Natanz uranium enrichment facility incident.
Rospotrebnadzor initiated continuous surveillance of Dagestan's southern regions due to the aforementioned Iranian contamination. Bi-hourly assessments are conducted to evaluate potential risks stemming from the Natanz accident. Data collected in Derbent, a key city in southern Dagestan, indicates that the radiation levels remain within expected natural parameters for the region, with no deviations detected. Rospotrebnadzor emphasizes that the radiation monitoring activities will be continued.
